The midnight library marca a primeira leitura do ano do Tearing pages book club, que passou agora a ser uma leitura a cada dois meses. Tendo passado os olhos pela sinopse, a premissa do livro parecia bastante promissora pelo que estava entusiasmada com esta leitura.
Neste universo, a Nora é uma pessoa pacata, deprimida, sem ambição, que está à deriva, a ver os dias passarem. Ela decide que atingiu o limite e resolveu suicidar-se. É neste momento, entre a vida e a morte, que surge a biblioteca da meia-noite, onde o tempo está estático e as possibilidades são infinitas.
Adorei o conceito de ser possível experimentar as vidas de realidades alternativas, vidas que advêm da tomada de escolhas diferentes, em diversas fases da vida! Seguramente, todos nós já pensamos "e se..." e o autor agarrou nesse mesmo pensamento e criou algo muito giro.
Na minha opinião, foi particularmente relevante, que a cada nova experiência havia uma lição a tirar e com o avançar da narrativa, ficou claro que esta era uma jornada de descoberta, de auto-conhecimento e que permitiu valorizar alguns aspectos da vida real da Nora, que estava pautada de arrependimentos...ou assim ela a julgava. Ela via o copo como meio vazio e ao ver "the big picture", a sua maneira de pensar e o modo que ela passou a ver o mundo tornou-se no "copo meio cheio", foi transformador. Gostei bastante e recomendo vivamente 😊
